Monthly Archives: March 2016

It isn’t done until the label is sewn to the back.

March has been a wonderful month for me.   I got caught up  on my Storytellers block of the month for month 5, 6  & 7.   I made 64 of these cuties 001

And got the center of the quilt sewn together

I got the pink version of the baby owl quilt machine quilted and delivered.

I took a small trip to Arkansas for a Sister weekend.  Had a wonderful time visiting my sister in Pine Bluff Arkansas.  Got to see my nephew and my great nephew.  Awesome weekend.  Came back totally rejuvenated having my sister fix.

Today I finished sewing the binding on the Saturday Sampler 2015 Quilt and the quilt label onto the back.  As the saying goes it’s not really finished until the label is sewn on.

Weather is warming, haven’t cleaned all the flower beds yet but already have some beauties announcing spring is here!  The bleeding hearts are one of my favorite spring flowers and a surprise holdover from last year a beautiful yellow pansy.  I love spring!!!

Working now on two projects at once.  T-Shirt quilt and sewing binding and label on Autumn Joy.

Happy Spring everyone and have a wonderful Easter and may God Bless You.

Huge Admiration for Free Motion Quilters

Princess Quilt delivered to Vicky for quilting.  Saturday Sampler group always fun.  Show and tell of what others are working on and have finished, also what’s new from quilt shop.  Keeps the inspiration clicking along. All inspired I headed home to work some more on the Baby Owl Quilt.

So far I had spent more time ripping out than actually free motion quilting the baby owl quilt.  I started and stopped several times.  I needed to loosen up my joints.  Boy do you get stiff when focusing so intently.  The more I progressed the more confident I became and worked diligently until I finished.  I worked through my inexperience and learned an awful lot about free motion quilting.  The most important thing I learned was I have a great admiration for the skill set of free motion quilters.

I have attached the binding and am currently hand sewing it now.  Hopefully will deliver it tomorrow.  Another project completed.  Nice feeling!

Happy Stitching Everyone
