Hello all. Sorry it’s been a while since I have posted anything. I had family visit for two weeks, I wouldn’t change that for the world. Totally broke up my routine, which was okay. I needed the break. Then when I was getting back to work on my project Memorial Weekend, I know, cutting it down to the wire for my May UFO which was due on Tuesday 5/26, I threw my back out unloading the dishwasher. I was laid up Sunday and Monday, tried to work on Tuesday, out of work on Wednesday went to the doctor and off on Thursday. Man oh man, was I in pain. Thankfully the medication the doctor has me taking is helping and I am at least mobile again. Still have discomfort but mobile. Needless to say, May’s project was not completed on time, nor was I able to attend the meeting.
It is Saturday evening and I find myself in my sewing room attempting to get May’s UFO finished. I am working on the borders. The first three I completed using the needle turn applique technique. I am trying the freezer paper, starch technique for the bottom border. We’ll see how well I do. So far I’m enjoying it. I still need practice getting the curves smooth, but like anything, the more you do the better you get. Laying out the design is easier with the freezer paper/starch technique. However, I do run into roadblocks with big lumps of fur in the middle of the ironing board . His name is Jr. He’s a beauty and very self important. He likes to give advise and just talks and talks as well as leaving fur all over my fabric. He’s been housebound due to all the rain we have been getting and the clouds are rolling in again. I’m sure he will have an opinion on it any minute.
My goal for this evening is to finish the four oak leaves. I have completed 2, but have 2 to go. Maybe I can get more stems done and the rabbit or squirrel. Wistfully working away. Just wanted to stop and take the time to get back in touch.
Enjoy….
