Friends of Baltimore/Finished

I wish I could say I’m celebrating but I am not. I have been working on Friends for almost 3 years and it became such an integral part of my daily routing that I am a bit lost without working on it. When I hung it to take it’s photo, I did not know the impact it would have on me to see it all completed. I then realized, I made that. I can only imagine how I will feel when I get it back from the quilter. Here is my photo, it did get photobombed by my sister’s cat, Buddy.

I have not yet started on my next big quilt project. I have been trying to clean up some smaller projects. I also took on working on a project for church. They have some wall panels that needed repair. I have some Christmas gifts I need to make. I need to finish my online quilting challenges for my Bernina Q16. I have 4 classes to complete. I’ve also added a truck quilt to make for my great nephew. I was working on my BOM Stars upon Stars when I got the Church Panels. I’ve tried several different techniques for the LeMoyne Star block and have finally settled upon Dee’s method.

Back to sewing happy stitches.

About Sissy Malone

I've been actively sewing since Jr. High School. But specifically drawn to quilting since I was 17/18 years old. My grandmother was a quilter and I became fascinated with the process. I fell in love (awestruck) is a better word viewing applique quilts by Gladys Rashka at the Minnesota State Fair in the 70's. A love affair was born of applique quilts. I still machine piece, but am always drawn to applique. I took classes learning different techniques and also traveled to California and studied a whole week at Asilomar with Elly Sienkiewicz. Quilting is my passion. I am always open to learning a new technique but still rely on handwork. View all posts by Sissy Malone
