What’s Under Your Needle?

This is an expression I have been seeing more and more online.  I have come to really like the use of it.  So whomever coined it kudos to you.

Here we go…. under my needle today is:  ta da drum roll…..

Block 2 of A boy and a Girl by Kim McLean. I finished prepping the whole block!  Oh Yeah… this girl is on fire.   What’s vacation time for anyway?   This is an awesome pattern and great use of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. So vibrant.  Having fun with this quilt.  The true challenge is the thread changing constantly.  I am hand appliqueing the blocks using the freezer paper spray starch method.

Always multi-tasking…. next under  the needle  is a zipper pouch free pattern by the Fat Quarter Shop.  You use those adorable mini moda charm packs.  I’ve made two so far and hope to get two more made tonight.  We’ll see.

I’ve had 2 days of vacation and have really been enjoying myself.  I’ve gotten so much accomplished.    Was in Springfield today for lab work.  But found a little time to stop into the quilt shop.  Back again tomorrow to Springfield for our Saturday Sampler Group.   This is my finished block:

The setting with be  1/2 log cabin blocks.   Looking forward to getting to that stage.  Soon, very soon.

I haven’t put my to do list to pencil and paper yet for September.  The ideas are rolling around in my head of  what I would like to get accomplished.    Will work on that tonight.

The weather has been beautiful with no humidity.  AC off windows open fabulous day!  I think the grass has finally stopped growing.  Hopefully no more mowing the lawn.   It totally feels like autumn is in the air.  I love autumn!!

Happy Stitches.  p.s.  “What’s under your needle?”
