The 23rd is around the corner……

Down to the wire with # 11.  My back is fine.  A little babying it along took care of the muscle strain plus a nice hot bath.  I’ve come to the conclusion that I am addicted to BOM’s. I think I need to join some sort of 12 step program for this addictions.  But then I rationalize BOM’s are for 12 months and there is my  12 step program.

I have way too many BOM’s in my UFO stash of someday to make tubs and the sad truth is I would love to sign up for new ones.  I see so many beautiful patterns out there and I itch with anticipation of making them “someday”. .

So back to # 11.  I only have 2 blocks and 1 filler block to hand applique.  I have prepped them and glued them into place.  Hoping to finish one of them tonight.   Then sew them all together and attach the border.  Wheeeeeeeeeeee.

My friends asked if the pressure I am putting on myself to get these projects completed on time has soured me on quilting.  The truth is I am enjoying having deadlines to meet.  So the answer to my friends’ question is absolutely not, I am already planning my list for next year.

About Sissy Malone

I've been actively sewing since Jr. High School. But specifically drawn to quilting since I was 17/18 years old. My grandmother was a quilter and I became fascinated with the process. I fell in love (awestruck) is a better word viewing applique quilts by Gladys Rashka at the Minnesota State Fair in the 70's. A love affair was born of applique quilts. I still machine piece, but am always drawn to applique. I took classes learning different techniques and also traveled to California and studied a whole week at Asilomar with Elly Sienkiewicz. Quilting is my passion. I am always open to learning a new technique but still rely on handwork. View all posts by Sissy Malone
